This was an entirely engineered project that required the involvement of soils and structural engineers. The homeowner had experienced a total failure of their elevated driveway. Upon investigation by the design team, it was discovered that it would be necessary to engineer for a load of a 25-ton fire truck. As a result of this, and major footings were required to be poured in steel reinforced concrete. Elevations were changed at driveway which made ingress and egress more practical. As this was a structure approximately 12 feet off the ground, a very heavy steel guard rail was fabricated on site to prevent vehicles and pedestrians from going off.
